What to do when your wedding vendors won't call you back

Planning a wedding is exciting but can also be incredibly stressful if your vendors won’t return your calls or emails. Whether you’re trying to reach your DJ, photographer, caterer, florist, or other vendor, it can be frustrating when they don't respond. In this article, we’ll discuss some actionable steps you can take when your wedding vendors ghost you.

When your wedding vendor doesn't respond, try to remain calm and give them a reasonable amount of time before following up with them again. It's likely that they are busy with other events and have not had the chance to respond back to you yet.

If you’ve already tried reaching out several times with no response, try reaching out via a different method. For instance, if you've been calling them, try emailing them instead or message them via social media. Your wedding planner/coordinator may also be able to fill the role of liaison for vendors depending on the package of services you have secured with them.

Should all other attempts fail, and your vendor remains unresponsive, begin the search for alternative vendors. Research and contact local vendors to determine their availability, pricing and services offered. While it is not ideal to change vendors at the last minute, occasionally it is necessary to do so to guarantee that every detail is in place for your special day.

When contacting potential new vendors, make sure to let them know that you are in need of their services secondary to issues with another vendor not responding. Some vendors may be sympathetic to your situation and more inclined to work with you on short notice.

Dealing with wedding vendors that ghost you can be stressful and frustrating, but it’s important not to let it ruin your special day. Remain calm, intensify your communication and be proactive in finding alternative vendors to ensure that everything goes smoothly as possible on your wedding day. Don't forget that communication is key in any relationship including those with your wedding vendors. Don't hesitate to advocate for yourself if necessary!
